My specialty is Pranic Healing, an ancient from of art and science of healing, used to accelerate the body’s natural healing processes. It is especially effective in achieving quick and lasting results at the physical and emotional levels and can be used distantly to relieve all types of painful symptoms. While I do incorporate some Pranic Healing techniques during all sessions of bodywork, clients report the most dramatic pain relief from experiencing Pranic Healing alone. Therefore, as a thank you for booking your first massage session with me, you’ll receive a gift certificate good for one Free Pranic Healing session for yourself or a loved one. Giving the gift of health can vastly improve the quality of someone’s life, as well as your own! To health and vitality, happiness and success!
My initial interest in massage grew out of a personal need for healing and pain relief. Having sustained a tailbone injury at the age of 13 years that left me sitting on pillows while in school, medical doctors told my parents that nothing could be done to relieve the condition. The most they could offer me was to recommend anti-inflammatory drugs and to advise me to sit on special cushions. It wasn’t until a few years later that I found a chiropractor, who practiced myo-fascial and triggerpoint techniques, who gradually helped me back to full recovery. That experience inspired me to want to learn more about the human body and to be able to help others desperately searching for healing.

In 2000, I completed the basic and advanced training for bodyworkers at the Kali Institute of Massage and Somatic Therapies in Ventura, Ca. I began working privately and in local chiropractic offices.
In 2003 I completed the basic and advanced coursework for GMCK’s Pranic Healing, an ancient form of science and art of energy healing; and an advanced deep tissue class at the Santa Barbara Bodyworks School of Massage in Santa Barbara, Ca.
In addition, I have training and experience in Theta Healing, Pranic Feng Shui, Compressive Deep Tissue, Cranio-Sacral, Reflexology, Thai Fusion Massage, Arhatic Yoga Meditation & Clairvoyance, Myofascial Release and Neuro-Muscular Technique.
Since experiencing firsthand the amazing power and immediate effectiveness of Pranic Healing, I have become ever more convinced that all things are changeable no matter what the medical prognosis is. I have witnessed clients recover from a sampling of conditions such as clinical depression, pain caused by herniated discs, sciatica, and asthma, to name a few. My practices are compatible with conventional medicine and I acknowledge and deeply respect the role these play in helping people.
The sensitivity it takes to perform Pranic Healing sessions means that my hands have a “knowingness” and can easily and quickly find and resolve areas of tension and restriction in the muscles and fascia. I became a Pranic Healing Practitioner in 2003 after realizing from a personal session, that addressing the energy field of the body can effect even faster results than I was previously getting with my clients. During my first experience receiving Pranic Healing I could feel the soreness and pain dissipate and gradually become replaced with a physical sense of vitality, energy and strength. More dramatic was the degree of inner peace, calm and stillness I felt internally. This additional aspect of my practice has and continues to produce amazing results in my clients and it is very exciting! It’s inspiring and I really enjoy helping people in this way.
Beyond living out my passion of helping people through my work, I enjoy living in Santa Barbara, hiking, practicing yoga, meditating, dancing and entertaining friends.
It’s a full life!!

Most of us have heard of or at least read about various forms of energy work used to effect healing in the physical body. The concept is based on the theory that we each have an energy field that surrounds the physical body and provides it with the life-force or, energy, it needs to re-generate and heal itself. For those of you who are new to this idea, it can be better understood within the context of unseen but definitely powerful subtle forces that were once unknown to man, such as electricity. Subtle life energy operating within the human body is very much like electricity used to turn a light bulb on, empowering it to radiate light.
Ancient cultures have long understood and respected this life energy and have traditions of medical practices based on it’s science (in Sanskrit it is called prana; in Japanese, ki or qi; in Chinese, chi; in Hebrew, ruah; in Hawaiian, mana, and so forth). While comparing a light bulb powered by a type of invisible energy, called electricity, can help us understand, the life energy that surrounds and interpenetrates the human body is a bit more complex.
It can both affect and be effected by numerous factors including the thoughts we think, the actions we perform and the work we create. In other words the energy field is a very profound place from which to effect healing, change or growth in any area of life. In cleansing and energizing the energy body, the physical body is empowered to accelerate it’s healing process. When the energy field is depleted or congested through stress or trauma, the physical body takes longer to recover and regenerate. By the same principle, it has been proven that even if one isn’t in a happy mood, making the muscles on the face smile, can induce a happier energy within a person. This is where the phrase, “fake it til you make it” applies.
As a Pranic Healing Practitioner, I scan for areas of congestion or depletion in the energy field and then remove congested prana and deposit clean chi through the use of my hands. This is a “hand’s off the body” technique, which can be done distantly as well. Because I am highly sensitive, my hands, eyes and ears can pick up frequencies and vibrations that indicate compromise in the body, frequently before, a client even tells me about that specific spot. Although I have been doing this for over 8 years, I am always amazed at the effects of energy work; usually a significant decrease in pain, if not complete resolution; lighter more hopeful spirit or attitude; and reports of feeling intense sensations of comfort and ease.
Because my sensitivities have increased through doing this work, I am also able to read energy fields and then share information that can illuminate and empower people to build the life they most desire. This portion of my work gives me the greatest satisfaction, because I believe that educating someone is the most effective thing that can be done. Bodywork and massage are wonderful for health maintenance, but having information, and expanded perspectives can help one to move beyond their present realizations and achieve their heart’s desires.
If you would like to have an energy read via email (or a distant healing) simply email me your question or concern with your name and birth date. It can be as long and involved as you wish or simple and short. The best types of inquiries are ones that are somewhat open ended, and not “yes” or “no” types of questions. This is only because an open ended question allows me to share more information beyond a “yes” or “no” answer. Email reads can be a way to gain clarity or insight, and can give you the confidence to move ahead or not on a project or important life decision.
Email reads are $25 each (one question per email). Easy payment with credit card via Paypal.
I wish to say special thank you’s to those of my clients who have expressed below, their sentiments about my work. Sharing your personal experiences takes time and effort but it is also a kindness to turn others onto the benefits my work can bring them. While some have chosen anonymity, my deepest gratitude to each of you for your contributions.
“The work Lani does on my neck is amazing. How she gets right to the key spots causing pain is only topped by the disappearance of it afterwards! Well worth the investment!”

“I first met Lani in the spring of 2006. I was immediately drawn to the light that seems to flow so effortlessly from her presence. Her nurturing touch has been a comfort to me through some very difficult times and her intuitive nature and therapeutic counseling has been of great support during times when I had to make important life decisions. Whenever the world feels out of sorts, I know I can come to Lani and leave filled with a renewed sense of hope and belief that all is well. Lani has taught me to trust my body and my emotions and understand the importance of surrounding myself with positivity. She is truly a magical and healing soul and I can’t thank her enough for the light she has brought into my life.”
-S.H., Portland, OR
“I appreciate how Lani always tries to work with my schedule and gets me in just when I need the work. Her technique is so effective, I haven’t found anyone who matches it. I get off the table feeling renewed and invigorated. I feel so blessed to have her as my therapist.”
-D.K., Beverly Hills, CA
“I prefer Lani’s type of massage because I feel like she really knows what she is doing when addressing my physical pain. Plus, her background in intuitive energy healing (Pranic Healing, Clairvoyance) means that she also works to remedy emotional stress that may be stored somatically in the body’s tissues and organs. Her work affects change and healing on several levels and it’s a greater value to me than a regular swedish massage, although she does some swedish style. I so appreciate having her as my bodyworker!”
